HoudahGeo 6.1 adds Geotags to JPEG/RAW Images with GPS Locations in Apple Photos

Houdah Software rolls out HoudahGeo 6.1, an important update to the company's photo geotagging tool. HoudahGeo is popular among travelers and professionals alike. This useful app tags photos with location coordinates and related metadata. Standard EXIF, XMP, and IPTC geotags allow cataloging tools to organize and find photos by location. HoudahGeo works with JPEG and RAW files as well as photos in Apple Photos, iPhoto, Aperture and Adobe Lightroom Classic libraries.

The new version improves performance when working with large projects, and expands support for weather and scuba diving data introduced in HoudahGeo 6.0. HoudahGeo 6.1 now supports Lightroom libraries set up with symbolic links to preview files, as well as reading malformed XMP sidecar files created by the Export Originals function of the Apple Photos application. The app also adds support for Retroactive, a tool that modifies the discontinued Apple Aperture application to run on macOS 10.15 Catalina as well as macOS 11 Big Sur. HoudahGeo 6.1 is $39 (USD) for a single-user license and can be downloaded from their Website.
