ArtOptimizer Update Preserve Details 2 Upscale Method

Zevrix Solutions announces release of ArtOptimizer 3.0.8 for Adobe Illustrator, an update to image workflow automation solution. ArtOptimizer eliminates the excess image data of Illustrator picture links and performs essential image adjustments. The software helps users save disk space as well as cut production time and reduce operational costs through automation of complex image manipulation tasks.

ArtOptimizer adds support for the Preserve Details 2.0 resampling method, a new upscaling algorithm introduced in Photoshop CC 2018. The new option is the most advanced upscaling technology in Photoshop, which utilizes artificial intelligence to interpolate much more effectively. With this algorithm, image size can increase dramatically with surprisingly little loss of quality. Users now can select the Preserve Details 2.0 method directly in the app in order to apply it automatically to Illustrator links that require upscaling.

It is a powerful automation solution for users in the print, prepress, and web design industries. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

  • Batch-process Illustrator files
  • Scale images in Photoshop to match their dimensions in Illustrator
  • Change image resolution to 300 dpi
  • Convert RGB images to CMYK profile
  • Resave JPEG files as TIFF
  • Merge layers and delete unused ones

ArtOptimizer reimports images to Illustrator at 100% in their precise position. As a result users can save gigabytes of disk space and countless hours of optimizing images manually. In addition, ArtOptimizer helps users accelerate document printing and exporting to PDF, speed up file transfer to service providers, reduce job turnaround, and cut costs through faster processing.

ArtOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix web site for $120 (USD), as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Licensed users of earlier versions can upgrade to ArtOptimizer 3 for $60. Trial is also available for download.

Package Central Update for Adobe InDesign Supports Creative Cloud 2020

Zevrix Solutions updates Package Central 1.11.9, its document packaging workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign packaging by processing files from hot folders. Package Central offloads file packaging to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the document collection process.

Package Central is now compatible with the recently released InDesign 2020 featured as part of Adobe Creative Cloud. The update is offered free of charge to Package Central users. The same version of Package Central can be used with any release of InDesign from CS5 and later.

Package Central solves the problem of centralized packaging and archiving of InDesign projects in a workgroup environment while serving unlimited users on a network. The app then automatically collects InDesign files along with their fonts and links into the destination folder specified in the hot folder settings.

Key features and benefits:

  • Automatically collect InDesign files from hot folders
  • Update modified links automatically
  • Create PDF and IDML files on the fly

Improved Custom Script Integration Comes to Output Factory Server for InDesign

Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of Output Factory Server 2.0.10, a major upgrade to company’s output automation software for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory Server automates InDesign production workflow by processing files from watched hot folders, and can serve unlimited users on a network. The software offloads printing and exporting from InDesign to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.

Improved Custom Script Integration Comes to Output Factory Server for InDesign

The new version improves the integration of custom scripts when running actions, or sequences of workflows, that allow to output InDesign files to different formats from a single hot folder. In previous versions, an action could invoke AppleScript and JavaScript scripts assigned to workflows linked to a wrong hot folder. The new update also addresses an issue in which certain PDF security settings related to allowed document changes weren’t applied as expected.

“Output Factory Server is an extremely useful utility for a busy production facility or advertising agency”, writes David Creamer in Layers magazine. “It can save lots of time – which equates to money.”

Under the Output Factory Server workflow, production artists, prepress operators and designers simply copy InDesign jobs to hot folders that reside on a network. Users can create hot folders for different output targets such as hi-res PDF, large format printing, Flash files and so on. The software offers the following key features:

  • Print and export InDesign files automatically from hot folders
  • Supports print, PDF, PostScript, TIFF, EPUB and other formats
  • Export as single pages
  • Automatic email notifications
  • Layer versioning
  • Run custom scripts
  • Variable output file names
  • Automatic preflighting

Pricing and Availability:
Output Factory Server can be purchased from Zevrix web site for $699.95 (USD), as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The upgrade to version 2 is $350 for the licensed users of Output Factory Server 1.x and BatchOutput Server. Output Factory Server requires macOS 10.7-10.13 and Adobe InDesign CS5-CC 2018.
