Pixelmator Team Announced Pixelmator Pro Upgrade

The Pixelmator Team announced the Pixelmator Pro Upgrade, allowing existing Pixelmator users to upgrade to the Pixelmator Pro image editor for Mac, the successor to Pixelmator.

“With prestigious accolades like the Mac App of the Year award from Apple, glowing reviews from our users, and thousands of five-star ratings on the Mac App Store, Pixelmator Pro is a hit,” said Saulius Dailide, one of the founders of the Pixelmator Team. “We’re confident every existing Pixelmator user would be thrilled with all the new tools, features, and improvements the app brings. And that’s why we’re so excited to launch the Pixelmator Pro Upgrade Program, letting existing Pixelmator users upgrade to Pixelmator Pro with a discount.”

Pixelmator Pro takes all the power and ease-of-use from the original Pixelmator and builds on it in new ways. Pixelmator image editing experience has been refined and improved. And thanks to the newest Apple graphics technologies powering everything under the hood, that experience is faster and more responsive than ever before.

One of the most notable changes is the new single-window interface, designed to make all the incredibly powerful image editing tools in Pixelmator Pro accessible to everyone. Its streamlined, macOS-native design provides an exceptionally familiar Mac app experience and is fully consistent with the look and feel of macOS.

In addition to the new interface, Pixelmator Pro includes a brand new and much more modern painting engine with dual-texture brushes, true-to-life paint blending, advanced brush dynamics, and full graphics tablet support. For photographers, there is a collection of professional-grade photo editing tools with deep machine learning integration that automatically improves photos like a pro photographer, nondestructive editing, full RAW support, and more. Illustrators can take advantage of the vector tool improvements and SVG support. And the overall speed and performance of Pixelmator Pro is also significantly improved.

The Pixelmator Pro Upgrade Bundle is available from the Mac App Store for $49.99.

Finding Photos is a Snap on Your iPhone With Fototriever

Adda Ventures, Inc. has released Fototriever 1.0, their new photo organization and management app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The app makes taking, tagging, finding and retrieving your photos easier than ever. The first-of-its-kind app uses voice-activated technology, allowing users to tag their photos by voice or text as soon as they’re taken.

When users wish to find a particular photo, they simply speak the name of the event into the iOS device, and the app quickly finds and displays the photo. No more searching and scrolling through endless photos, simply speak or enter search text, and the photo is quickly found.

By using Fototriever photographers can avoid the frustration of repetitive swiping to find their images. The user tags the photos as they’re taken (or they can be tagged at a later time), using the traditional formula of “how,” “what,” “where,” and “when.” The app allows creating tags either by the traditional keyboard method or by using the iPhone’s microphone to speak the tags.

Once the photos have been tagged, a photographer can then use voice commands to instantly find an image. For example, saying “Birthday, Zoo, Jonathan, March 2018” or any one of these words will instantly bring up all photos that have been tagged of Jonathan’s birthday at the zoo in March. Even years later, images can quickly be found with simple voice or text command. “See it, say it, save it.”

Main Features of Fototriever:
* Quickly tags photos as they are created, using voice or text
* Voice or text tag any photo already in your Photo Library
* Retrieve any photo anytime by voice or text
* Share photos by AirDrop, email, text, or social media
* Print images to AirPrint-compatible printers
* Totally free, no in-app purchases or subscriptions needed

Pricing and Availability:
Fototriever 1.0 is free and is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photo and Video category. For more information about the app, visit the Fototriever website. Download Fototriever today and never have to hunt for a photo again. Happy photo taking with Fototriever. The update adds support for macOS Mojave, including an all-new light appearance, Core ML-powered automatic photo enhancement, batch image processing via the Automator app, and much more.

The new ML Enhance feature in Pixelmator Pro automatically enhances photos – balancing the colors, evening out exposure, and making changes to individual color ranges – to give you the best starting point for making your own creative edits to a photo. Powered by Core ML and developed using a carefully refined set of millions of professional photos, the machine learning algorithm analyzes photos to detect the objects they contain, then enhances their colors and brings out missing details, leaving the final creative touches to the user.

The update also brings the option to use a gorgeous light appearance, giving users an entirely new way to experience Pixelmator Pro. In addition, Pixelmator Pro 1.2 Quicksilver includes a refreshed, much more native dark appearance, so the app now adapts seamlessly to the light and dark modes in macOS Mojave. And with automatic switching, Pixelmator Pro instantly updates to match the current appearance of macOS.

Automator support and five powerful, versatile actions now makes it possible to batch process images using the professional editing tools available in Pixelmator Pro. The Auto Enhance Images action uses the new ML Enhance feature to automatically improve photos, Auto White Balance Images automatically corrects white balance, Apply Color Adjustments to Images and Apply Effects to Images makes every single color adjustment and effect in Pixelmator Pro available in Automator, and Change Type of Images makes it a breeze to convert batches of images from one file format to another. So now, working with large sets of images and making repetitive edits becomes effortless.

Fantagram Releases 9cam 1.0 for iOS

Fantagram has released 9cam 1.0 for iOS, their new camera app that enables anyone to take expert-level photography with no effort. The developer says app’s slim feature set and simple User interface was a deliberate decision to meet the needs of people who just want to focus on taking beautiful pictures with no distraction. The app’s Live Filter system adjusts everything for the user.

All nine filters were developed in-house, on the contrast of most of camera apps that use open source filter parameters. Another noticeable feature is the Live Filter system. 9cam’s OpenGL based camera engine analyzes over 260,000 color information on the viewfinder in real time and automatically optimizes the parameters. In short, all the user needs to do to take a great picture with the 9cam is just point and shoot.

9cam provides Double Filter features for users who want richer colors. You can choose one filter when you take a picture and then choose another after taking it.

For a limited time, 9cam 1.0 is free, and is available through the App Store.
