This isn’t a heavyweight application like Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere. PhotoStory opens quickly and allows users to get their task done so they can get to the next step in their workflow.”

Snappd – The Home of Vertical Video Is Here

Snappd Ltd. has announced the release of Snappd 1.0, its new video discovery and storytelling app developed exclusively for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. The goal of Snappd is to give (vertical) videos longevity and to boost discovery for the creators of these stories. The app is for content creators and influencers who make stories but also for people looking to find and watch engaging mobile videos. Creators and influencers can re-purpose their content to grow their audience and boost discovery.

Viewers can discover and watch stories from categories & tags that interest them. They can also follow creators and be notified when they upload. As these stories will not expire creators can share their content easily across social media and even embed them into a website or blog post with just a few taps.

Snappd is fully optimized for mobile which is key as the trend towards creating and consuming vertical video content continues to grow. Discovery is an essential aspect of the app. Each story must have a tagline and at least two tags to give context so that viewers know what the video is about.

Categories also allow viewers to find stories and creators in a range of different topics from ‘Business’ and ‘Tech’ to ‘Marketing’ and ‘Beauty.’ The home page is where you can find the featured section which highlights curated videos which are regularly updated to showcase must-watch stories.

To ensure that stories are quality each user must apply to be a Snappd creator – everyone will be able to upload one story then their profile is reviewed in order to grant the ability to upload more videos.

Snappd 1.0 is free and available on the App Store in the Photo & Video category.

Onee Brings a Fun and Creative Photography App to iOS

Onee Sp. z o.o. has released Onee – show your real face 1.2, an update to their fun and creative photography app for iOS devices. The app allows anyone to capture and share a truly authentic and uniquely artful snapshot of life.

Because the instant the photo (which the app calls a “Onee”) is taken, it’s automatically made public for the world to see. There’s no way to stop or undo this from happening, which adds new meaning to “what is you see is what you get.” After an hour, however, users can delete the photo and pull it offline. They can also share it on Facebook, Instagram, or send it via email/IM to anyone in their network. All photos are saved on their device’s camera roll.

“Onee is the refreshing and much-needed solution to the over-produced, perfect photos that are all over the Internet and that use sophisticated equipment and filters,” commented Patryk Nowak of Onee Sp. z o.o. “But life doesn’t need rose-tinted glasses, and everyone and everything doesn’t have to be flawless. Reality is already beautiful and artistic, and Onee helps bring that truth to life in a unique and fun new way! Both professional and amateur photographers will also enjoy Onee, because as we all know, real art isn’t about manipulating a photo editor or applying filters, but it’s about capturing a unique moment in a one-of-a-kind environment. Onee puts talent ahead of technology, and lets people be themselves instead of trying to be someone else.”

Onee – show your real face 1.2 is free, and is available through the App Store.
