Simplify the Movement of Data on Your Mac With Enact

Mac-Chi has released Enact 1.0.7, their new productivity app for macOS computers. The app offers Mac users the ability to edit, print, and share information from their computer’s clipboard or keyboard via a large number of methods.

Simplify the Movement of Data on Your Mac With Enact

In addition, users can share posts to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, save the information as a new note, an addition to an existing note, or print the information directly to their printer. The app also offers the ability to jump to any open tab in the Safari with a click of the mouse in the Mac’s Menu bar or Dock.

Users can quickly create a text file, post text directly to popular social networks, or share the data via AirDrop with other Mac or iOS device users. Clipboard contents can also be shared in a variety of file formats including plain text, rich text or PDF formats.

Enact is designed to grow in the future, using an “dataSource -> embedded capabilities -> dataTarget,” API model. The developer says new capabilities will be added to the app in the near future, encouraging users to subscribe for 3 months to see for themselves how the app will be improved.

Current Features Include:
* Highly Customizable User Interface
* Custom formatting of information before sharing
* Change font, font style, and font size of datasource
* Provides a sentence and paragraph listing for any text
* Share from Enact to popular social networks, including Facebook and Twitter
* Share with other Mac and iOS users via AirDrop
* Print formatted information
* Save and share info in popular file formats, including .txt, .rtf, and .pdf
* Jump directly to any open Safari tab from the Mac Menu Bar or Dock
* Use information from any selected Safari tab
* Drag text onto the Exact Dock icon to customize before dispatching
* Save directly to a new or existing note in the Apple Notes app
* Create a reminder in the Reminders app
* Send text as an SMS message in the Mac Messages app
* Compose an email from your datasource to send in the Mail app
* Have your Mac read aloud highlighted text from the app
* New dataSources for Spotlight and Google Chrome on the way

“We’re not offering a normal short trial period. As we get started, I know a few days is not enough to understand what Enact has to offer. This is what’s behind our $0.99 3-month ‘get to know us’ offer,” continues Steve. “Buyers can benefit from Enact right now, but they’ll also get to discover how the app will expand over the next few months. Enact was designed from the ground up to plug in new stuff; Chrome and Spotlight are up first. A subscription really fits our engineering/product rollout at least for the next 6-8 quarters, but know we’ve got a subscription-less, snap-on version of Enact that will begin to make more sense as a product later this year.”

Three in-app purchases are available:
* Use – 3 months of Premium – $0.99 USD “pay-as-you-use”
* Subscribe – Auto-renewing 3 months subscription – $0.99 USD
* Buy – Premium – $12.99 USD A one time cost. No upgrade fees or subscription fees – ever

Enact 1.0.7 is free to download and is available through the Mac App Store. [GET IT HERE]

DEVONthink To Go 2.1 Adds Interoperability, Printing, and More

DEVONtechnologies updates DEVONthink’s iOS companion, DEVONthink To Go, with new features, workflow improvements, and bug fixes. Version 2.1 makes documents stored in its databases available to third-party apps so that users can open them externally, edit them, and save changes back without cumbersome roundtrips. Documents can be printed and 1Password integration facilitates entering credentials. The update is free and recommended for all users.

DEVONthink To Go 2.1 Adds Interoperability, Printing, and More

DEVONthink To Go 2.1 makes documents stored in its databases securely available to other apps. The so-called document provider extension allows users to navigate their databases from within third-party apps and open compatible documents. Edits made externally are saved directly back to DEVONthink To Go. The fast full-text search locates documents almost instantly without even leaving the host app.

Many productivity apps including Apple Pages, Numbers, and Keynote support document providers right away. Other apps can use them through the ‘Locations’ button of the iCloud Drive picker.

In addition, DEVONthink To Go 2.1 adds native printing of many document formats. Integrated 1Password support saves roundtrips to the 1Password app for web pages viewed inside the app as well as for setting up WebDAV sync locations. A settings option for the PDF scroll direction – vertically or horizontally – ends the fight over the ‘right’ direction by giving users the choice.

Version 2.1 also improves clipping data from other apps, e.g. from Safari. The enhanced Clip to DEVONthink share extension retrieves the title and a preview image for web pages as well as the original URL for articles clipped from the News app. Web archives created with Clip to DEVONthink or inside the app are now fully indexed and searchable too.

Finally, searching inside of PDFs again lists page titles and page numbers, Markdown documents support referenced images, and sheets are displayed more compact. The synchronization better avoids memory peaks and more efficiently handles situations where multiple sync locations synchronize the same sync stores. The update is free for existing users and highly recommended.

DEVONthink To Go 2.1 requires iOS 9.1 or later and is available for $14.99 USD through the iOS App Store in the Productivity category. Some features require a one-time in-app purchase. Customers find more information about our apps on the DEVONtechnologies website. Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann also posts news, opinions, previews, and public betas in his blog Devonian Times.

Station 1.1 – Multilevel Dock for macOS

Plymouth, Minnesota – True North Software today is very proud to announce the release of Station 1.1, the company’s multilevel (hierarchical) launcher for macOS. Station promotes a more natural organization of applications and documents into folders. With nested folders, you can arrange items in Station in a way that fits your workflow with an uncluttered look and feel. Scalability is greatly increased through logical groupings thus increasing the sheer number of items that can be added to Station without having to shrink the launcher size.

Productivity is increased because related items can be grouped together into a single folder. For example, one folder can contain work related items and another folder gaming items. Another useful feature of Station is the ability to launch, all at once, the items in a launch folder. This is useful when switching between tasks like business and spreadsheets to graphics work. With ten levels of folders available, enough space is provided to spread out even the most diverse set of applications and documents.

Station also implements scrollbars when a launch panel exceeds the width or height of the screen. This design also does away with the need for magnification or shrinking the height of the launch panel so your icons remain one height thus making them more readable.

What’s New for Version 1.1:
* Station can collapse all open launch folders above the root level folder after a launch
* Folder aliases can be created that allow to you immediately open the original folder no matter where it resides
* A menu item was added to collapse all open launch folders down to the root level
* A menu item was added to reopen the previously open launch folder
* You may now select any color for the background color of launch panels
* The embedded open folder icon can now be either blue or red
* Refined the internal dragging of items on the panels
* More robust full screen and multiple display support

Station Features:
* Up to ten levels of folders can be shown
* The size of the icons can range from 32 to 64 points
* An alias folder can be created from any existing folder
* Icons can be assigned to folders to give them a more distinctive feel
* All applications and documents in a folder can be launched all at once
* Station can be displayed on the left, right or bottom side of the screen
* Station can be displayed statically (always shown) or automatically hidden when not needed
* The display name of a folder can be renamed (e.g. “untitled” to “Graphics”)
* Scrollbar support for launch panels that exceed screen dimensions
* Embedded open folder icon can now be either blue or red
* Auto collapse of folders after launch of an item
* Select any color for the panel background color
* Fullscreen and multiscreen support

System Requirements:
* Requires macOS 10.10 or higher
* 64-bit processor
* 17.1 MB
