Originally created in the summer of 2010, Clean Writer was the first iPad app of its kind – a distraction-free text editor for writers and creative people that boosts creativity by putting the focus on words and WRITING instead of formatting and unnecessary features.
Version 3.0 is the first update since 2012, and brings improvements that dedicated users have called for, including: hardware and software compatibility with modern iPads and iOS versions’ improved Dropbox integration using Dropbox API 2.0; a modern UI with cleaner looks and icons.
Other notable features: live counters for words, characters and lines; minimalist UI with the possibility to hide out everything but the text and use multi-touch gestures for navigation and menu invocations; 4 color themes adapted to diurnal or nocturnal writing; custom global font selection; file management with Dropbox integration; keyboard auxiliary bar with user-customizable shortcut keys; inter-app connectivity; sending files as email attachments.
Independent developer, Charlie Imhoff today is proud to announce the release of Tabula 1.0 for macOS. Tabula is a distraction free writing app which automatically formats user’s text as they write. Tabula uses an intelligent interpreter that reads and styles text automatically to enable users to create beautiful text documents without touching a styling toolbar or learning complex markup.
* Author content with live preview
* Automatic detection and formatting of titles and subtitles, headings, lists, tables, links, and more
* Export HTML or PDF files in a variety of themes
* iCloud Drive Sync
* Night mode
* Export to plain HTML for inserting into existing websites or alongside custom stylesheets
Tabula’s automatic formatting is based on natural composition. Tabula wraps up its interpretation in handcrafted themes for export, adjusting to screen size so they read comfortably on any device.
“Apps like Word have so many formatting menus competing for your precious attention”, said Charlie Imhoff, the designer and lead developer of Tabula. “Tabula lets you just write, and not worry about anything else”.
For a limited time, Tabula 1.0 is offered for the introductory price of $4.99 and available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Productivity category. Tabula is also available for iOS for the introductory price of $2.99. Tabula for macOS and iOS work together through iCloud Drive, allowing authors to start documents on their iPhones or iPads, and finish them on their Macs.
Nisus Software today is pleased to announce the release of Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.6, the latest release of their powerful word processor for the Mac. This version contains a number of fixes that improve compatibility with macOS Sierra:
* Fixed a possible crash when using the document version browser (using the menu File > Revert To > Browse All Versions)
* Fixed an issue where Soft Return characters could trigger incorrect spacing, indentation, and drawing
* Fixed a warning about invalid bookmark data after relaunching, if the user quit with Untitled documents open
